Same thing start to spew and coming out around the cap, took cap off and was spewing all over me and would not stop. I was so mad because it wasted the entire can. 
I followed the directions on the can to a tee but still no luck. Jules- I believe they are. I keep put thinner in a jar lid or something and soak the clogged tip while I use the other. So I put it upside down in an empty plastic flower container and left it outside. And why do the craft store keep selling them? Very disappointing. Product clogs almost immediately. WHAT A MESS. This product should be sold in cans half the size. Then it continued to sputter gook out of the nozzle, but not spray. Adheres well to most surfaces, even plastic and craft foam. I had the same leaking and sputtering problems with the Cherry Bomb, Lucky Green and Golden Glow colors I bought a yesterday! Then you jam something onto the valve and out sprays the paint. I went back to the 2-step process of a base metallic coat and then coat of Glitter Spray. I usually buy 2 cans. This is an old entry, but still going strong, so why not: Rustoleum Gold Glitter paint clogtastic and the nozzle doesnt mate correctly with the cans valve so even if you manage to unclog the nozzle, you might be pressing down on it and nothing happens. Something went wrong. Just used Starry Night last weekend to spray paint some pine cones for a Halloween project. The spray nozzles of both cans are not blocked, it wont come up out of the can right. Youd think itd be more work, but with all the issues with the spray glitter products, it tends to be *less* work.
I would not recommend it indoors as the flake flies all over the place. Gold. Sorry to say it has not improved. I couldnt get the spraying to stop whatsoever. I really wish it was just an in-line nozzle design with the only purpose of the nozzle being to mist the spray, rather than trying to make it all bend around 90 degrees (where the glitter can pool up) and giving it direction, with a complex mating design to prevent the nozzle from falling off while still being possible to remove because they know itll clog. I think that taking breaks to clear the nozzle every so often might help prevent it from clogging. The glitter is beautiful! 
i have a plastic bowl and cakeboard on the top before i place the cake on it to protect it. Im looking to a different brand. So you figure it must just be clogged again; nope, its just not engaging right. NOT EASY TO GET OFF YOUR HANDS OR WORK CLOTHES. I now have 9 cans that are half full and wont spray!!
