That may work, but Ive found that adding the Mod Podge directly onto the area where the stencil edge is help really seal it to prevent bleeding. Removing the stencil as soon as the paint is just dry to the touch (10 min or so) will help prevent the paint peeling with the stencil being removed. You try your darnest to do multiple light coats of paint brushing away from the stencil edges, but there is still paint bleeding underneath your stencils, right?! Let me know if you do try it out.
