The air blown out was only cool but no way near to cold. The only remedy is to replace the entire air conditioning system. I had one replaced in Salt Lake City for $1,275 which also included a day's car rental (we were on a road trip, and driving a new turbo Civic for the day was good fun). I only have 6k miles and noticed the AC doesnt cool very well, especially on really hot days. The serpentine belt or drive belt runs the AC compressor, allowing it to pressurize refrigerant and pass it on through the system.

The compressor itself going out is a common occurrence. But the newer model become worst, if Honda Canada do not improve this, I think the people will give bad comment to their community and friend. The AC is not cooling. I have repeatedly tried contacting them and have left messages.

I told them I havent used the ac since last year when CPO was intact but they dont care. I just had my 2018 Honda CRV's compressor replaced. I have first hand proof that our car is a lemon. We have owned 7 Hondas and having the compressor go bad in this new of a vehicle is NOT acceptable!! The dealer replaced the clutch, coil and compressor and recharged the unit under the warranty.

I would be skeptical of the mechanics you talked to who haven't examined the actual system trying to quoting you a large and expensive job. After 2.5 hrs I asked in person since I never received a text update as promised. We went to use the ac and it blew hot air. I have had failures of the AC system in both of our '09s, and both times the bill was under $1,300 from a Honda dealer.

Compressor clutch failure is much more common on older vehicles. I WAS TOLD THAT THE COMPRESSOR HAD BLEW APART AND SENT SMALL PIECES OF METAL THROUGH THE AC SYSTEM. Problems with the electrical system is another culprit. Someone should start a class action lawsuit on this! Also when I switch it on.
The car has only 34,000 miles but is more than 3 years old, so guess I am out of luck. Clearly Honda has gone the way of SO many formerly-great manufacturers. So I took it to an independent mechanic and he showed me that the caps for the AC are missing, after doing some research online I found that this model suffers from having faulty AC units and that the mechanics at the dealership did the bare minimum to resolve this issue.

I really like the CRV but advise you not to buy themno more for me. I purchased my 2021 Honda CRV in mid-Dec 2021. Keep the car near perfect. The dealer now tells me the total cost of compressor replacement is $2240 .neither they nor Honda can (or will) do anything to soften that cost. Presently I own a 2017 CRV. Oh boy!! I had my compressor replaced a year or so ago. Should we all hire an attorney and open a class action lawsuit?

If the leak is severe, it can damage the system. Had to have compressor and condenser replaced.next day began blowing warm air again.another four hour wait to be told the compressor bad.now another wait for compressor to be ordered, delivered and another 4-8 hour wait at the dealers for the repair. Honda needs to make it right with the customers. I have tried to contact Honda Customer Service and managed to get a case number last month when we first had this problem, but havent heard back and cant get through to anyone now. 
I am a longtime Honda owner.
I rode 90% of the way with my AC off until it can be looked at. Up until now I loved the brand and was very happy with all of my previously owned Hondas.
