Thank you! Basically, you cut the boards down to the length you need and install it right over the sub-flooring. They have the best #2 pine boards ever, that are really better than the big box stores best wood. We are looking to do pine floors as well and I wanted to face nail with a nail gun to cut down on time. Was thinking i would have to do tounge and groove to allow for some expansion and contraction. The original hard wood does not create any sound proofing for our bedroom in the basement!! We didnt use tongue and groove. You obviously wouldnt be nailing the boards down, but I have no clue if there is any type of vapor barrier or glue that would work.
We wanted it to look very old and worn. Ive seen lots of i to paint them with checkers etc so Im looking forward to having some fun with that! Plus, you can add your own stain or finish to these unfinished planks to customize them to your space. Have you ever painted them instead of staining? Was there a lip/or trip hazard? From what I understand theres #2 Sugar pine, western cedar?? Just curious do you sand the boards after you install before you finish? That is one question that I hope someone can answer for me sometime. If you are staying it any type of warmer color, it will just make add a little glow to it. But what flooring wouldnt? We recommend adding a waste of up to 15% to ensure you have enough materials for your project during installation, including accidental breaks or cuts.

White pine flooring will look awesome in your home. Does the poly take care of that? We are, by no means, experts on it, but I would say we are experienced. We couldnt get them to budge. We dont let our dog run uncontrollably, we have area rugs placed in walking areas, and we use sliders when moving furniture because pine is a softer wood. I dont think I would install this on a slab. The #2 means they come with a few knot holes which is perfect if you want a rustic looking floor.
