So now I say: buy the women's. I liked Infusion very much too. I am constantly searching for the ultimate orange blossom scent (and have found many good leads on this site! It does seem like you've already established your scent tastes for lifeshould the rest of us be so lucky! I dont want to go buy a bottle at a department store, only to get it home and be disappointed again. Oh, this is too funny. But I cant help trying to making it a little more interesting. And I know I'll be sniffing my hand all afternoon to see how it develops, Good luck getting a decent price if it's a huge bargain, don't even tell me because I paid full price. The interesting thing about gourmands though is a potential flickering between eat me!/don't eat me!. I don't find Id'Iris nice girl at all, but rather serene and intellectually understated. (LogOut/ I know you must be thinking IdI has orange notes in it but they are done without that tropical nonsence. No idea on the laying flat never did it! . I really think the release of Id'Homme was pretty superfluous (but probably very profitable, reading some opinions on it). Just tried a sample of this yesterday (and unfortunately dropped the small vial on the floor and lost half of itdarn!). Do you use a certain perfume everyday? Excuse me?!
Leave a comment, or read more about commenting at Now Smell This. Well now I see how this blog works. If i prefer the edt, than i'm wearing it instead of the parfum. Anyone with any class at all knows that being understated is something to be known for. I'm a big fan of infusion d'iris! Feminine, sophisticated, light, and unique. Like all other Prada products, the bottle looks so luxurious on your vanity. It's just silly to buy an EdT or worse an EdC foolish, foolish, foolish. Now after reading your comment, it's even more tempting!!!! Iris Ganache (Guerlain), Orris Noir (Ormonde Jayne), Iris Noir (Yves Rocher), Iris Pallida (LArtisan Parfumeur), 28 La Pausa (Chanel) It seems that iris is a rather au courant note in the European market. I do not know how much Muccia gets involved w/ the fragrance, but my suspicion would be, more than most designers, simply because the fragrance line is so lovely AND so entirely unusual. It is surely wonderful and a delight to wear, little goes long way but I have a small issue regarding this: Hubby. Change). With Id'I being an exception I meant it's a rare non-foody new release. I went to your Resources section to look for an entry for iris, but to no avail (?). On the other hand, I tend to believe that if you are more professional definitions become clearer and it's just us hobby sniffers who avoid exposing our lack of knowledge by saying well, you know, it's all very personal. Yeah. A friend of mine has got some Prada Infusion dIris candles in her hallway and every time i walked past them, I could smell that stunning aroma that just stayed in my nose and I could not stop thinking about it!! Don't see what difference it would make. On me it is soapy, like a washing product something like shampoo, soap, shower gel, name it, but it smells unique, yes. It is just as well that Infusion d'Iris wasn't actually for sale yet, as I might have gone back to buy it on the spot. not striking, but very pleasant. It went from being very cucumbery to something very light and etherealbut with a nice little booomp! December 18, 2015 at 3:37pm Reply, RM: Hello Victoria! Elaborate, interesting I still haven't done a side by side test but then the women's doesn't strike me the same way it strikes you at all. I've had it on my Lust List for so long it's agonising to hear about it from the other side of the pond. I bought Estee Lauder Azuree Soleil and a mini of Kenzo Flower Oriental (which perhaps doesn't count as it's a mini)?
So true. I read your review on this edp a while back and made a mental note to try it as it sounded heavenly. November 5, 2017 at 12:01pm Reply, I agree to the terms outlined in the I agree that Vanilla alone doesn't smell foody. I'd sign it. Sorry to Jett & Robin for inappropriate remarks and causing stress. I like Infusion d'Iris much better, but I think they're similar enough to be worth a try. Season & Occasion: Nice in the Autumn, perfect in the Spring, daytime. R, I'd love to know the other 2 scents you've bought this year. I don't use furnish polisher and for me the citron etc. There was only one time he didn't like a perfume I was wearing. I have no good things to say about it, so I'll refrain.
M, I actually like the bottle in person more than I did in pictures they did a nice job on the packaging. (She wasnt.). In Infusion dIris, the note keeps its vegetal side, with a slight carroty nuance. A wift of this tells me I dont use it nearly enough. There are enough cudgel scents as well as enough short-lived colognes but rather few really subtle still characterful scents that stay on long enough. Does anyone know of another fragrance similar? It is so clean and addictive. Just got a sample today. I bought the body emulsion to enforce it. No. I bought paul smith rose today instead, having read your comments on this one yet, and cant find it on amazon? definitely one of those scents that has an odd way of inspiring confidence and comfort at the same time. This & EL Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia are IMHO the best mainstream scents so far this year. (I know for D&G The One, for instance, you can only get the deodorant outside the US.) The page where youre supposed to lean forward and smell the flowers.. I used to wear #5 years ago, but can't wear it anymore. I wonder if what you smelled at Saks was the Linen Water? IdI just has something more substantial in it, I dont smell enough of the incense in Infusion DHomme to make it interesting enough to wear on a regular basis. i kept catching unexpected, pleasant whiffs of myself. For me it is quite cheap and reminds me of Giorgio by Beverly Hills. I'm enjoying this scent more as time goes by, as well. And Original Colonia AdP becomes much softer when layered with this one:). It reminds me of a subtle version of Chanel No 5. I love the whole-plant-in-dirt concept, but I'll order up a decant. or Marc Jacobs slightly, and Arpge pH strongly foody (I was thinking it could be my perception of some new musk). I agree with someone who wrote that it had an air of intelligence. Yes, unisex is a matter of point of view, but to me there is even a bit of classical masculinity to it. It smells *exactly* like the incense cones I used to burn in high school/college.
Very few scents will spoil in less than a year, so I'd say yes. My husband picked up the incense notes right awaythe man has a good nose.
Sometimes pleading for sympathy.
I have a beautiful silver tray that is just screaming for 1 or 2 more perfume additions! eeks. Robin couldn't find this beauty anywhere in CZ but my visit to NL gave me the oppurtunity to finally try Infusion d'Iris. can i use this one or is away from the male version or too feminine? Also, Im not a bottle fiend, but the packaging for this (and all the other Prada scents) is exquisite. This might be due to the fact that my grandmothers mainly wear CD Poison and Armani Diamonds. Most are safe for several years at least, and some will last far beyond that. I like it so much but I dont consider it very intense. My first impression wasn't entirely positive. Infusion d'Iris is indeed a great new fragrance, and I still would say it's more interesting than Id'Homme. I've only got the 1 bottle, and it's a tiny little 50 ml. I never want to smell like something unpleased from work when I wear fragrance!
I get this in the Gaultierthe foody component is probably often hidden behind the expression musk. The later EDT, which came out in 2010, is a different perfume. Sweet was there before, but wasn't edible sth new? This is just a bit lighter. More of an attack on how I feel about fragrance. Because of its lightness I think it can be easily worn by men and women. Then come the coadjuvant notes not in a gradual, classic pyramid style, but in modern panoramic composition. Looks like I might have to return it and use the $ towards a bottle of I d'I! Too bad cause I really liked that scent. What a beautiful fragrance! July 13, 2011 at 1:40pm Reply, Sanam: Janet Its so funny that you mentioned the urine smell. I was wondering what are your thoughts on the current 2015 version? at the bottom. Several times recently I've reached for one and discovered it's empty or spoiled. The Guerlain woman asked me if I wanted her to perfume me for a test and when I agreed she told me to close the eyes and pffft pffft pfffft pffft I disappeared in a vapour of powdery greens, beiges and purples. Honestly? The only reason why I'd lay it flat is if I wanted to store it in a drawer (to keep it away from the sun, as you said) and it didn't fit upright. Well, it lasts on me now since almost 9 hours and I guess it still will. Reup depending of oz you buy. Must pH or Caron's p. un Homme would be my examples for (gorgeous) Vanilla bombs completely inedible. And some that start to turn really only lose the top notes, and are still perfectly wearable. It is definitely light, but has lasting power. I have always wanted a perfume that has that clean, waxy smell and this, oh, too lush! Is this perfume worth the money? It would not seem odd to me to smell it on a 20 year old, but if it feels wrong to you, then why wear it? Makes buying more product way less tempting. Ha. Really light hence, perhaps, the massive vat of juice the model is swooning over in the ad shown above. Once I get a vanity with drawers I'll keep it in there. It doesn't seem to have a classical structure at all. So I guess I luck out in this case! s&r: Fashion eras are funny creatures; to think that a fragrance containing notes of iris, orange blossom, galbanum and vetiver could ever be novel, when its probably been one of the most common and fashionable combinations in fragrance history. I have the body lotion and will order the bath gel but havent seen a deodorant. It is soft-spoken, but not dull at all, and while it calls for a more liberal application than you'd expect for an Eau de Parfum and even then, don't go looking for major sillage it is actually rather tenacious in terms of lasting power. Prada Infusion D'Iris is one of my all time favorite perfumes! What is your closest-to-ultimate orange blossom so far? Even if US fragrances have not traditionally engaged in the same passionate love affair, I only need to smell the drydowns of Estee Lauder fragrances to draw different conclusions. It really is a very close to the skin scent, and so is the men's version. You perfectly described the difference between the two. But I'm actually quite happy for it's subtlety. It strongly references Guerlain LHeure Bleue, even down to Guerlains exquisite melancholy. It was my favorite in 2019. Wow, that is a great deal on the TG, congrats! And hey, at least your nagging little voice has excellent taste, R, a sad discovery recently is how fast decants can turn or evaporate, particularly those in plastic atomizers. Great review! Im wearing it today and while the edp has vanished the lotion still has a delicate presence. Ive done that with several fragrances.
I like the IDI more in the top notes stage then in the drydown which becomes rather linear on me. And do see the Hermes quality, certainly. I love Iris too but now I am insanely in love with Iris 39 from Le Labo and I am not sure if you have an idea about how they compare. I had my eye on Infusion DIris for a while, because I felt an iris perfume would be wonderful for the warmer weather. There must be something that youd feel more comfortable in. July 29, 2022 at 1:58pm, nozknoz in 5 Perfume Masterpieces for Summer: These times are definitely ones in which I need to fortify my spirit with beauty. It stands out but blends in, if that makes any sense, and makes an ideal skin scent forwell, those skin scent days, which Im having with rather more frequently lately. Hopefully will manage to put the men's on skin soon. One of my favorite scents of all time. Ive yet to be able to place the different components of scents but Im learning so much! Iris notes sometimes give that impression. After wearing D'Iris for a few days I think I start to get it a bit more! Despite this, we havent experienced such introspective subtlety in quite some time. So not sure what to advise. They were black when she was in shadow and dark blue in full daylight. I smell Infusion dIris, the latest fragrance from Prada, and Gustav Flauberts description of Emma Bovarys eyes floats up in mind. Very impressed with Daniela Andrier. I wore Infusion for the first time yesterday and at the drydown completely flashed back to Lheure that I havent worn in more than a decade. I tried it on my wrists last week, and the whole night I could not stop sniffing myself. Thank you for sharing your knowledge December 18, 2015 at 11:26am Reply, Victoria: Thank you for your comment and welcome to Bois de Jasmin, Jahmaiah. Just smells so pretty! I guess that's also why you can't smell it from freshly cut roots.
How nice that you found your perfect scent! It's perfect thanks to you I I found my signature scent. Heres Our List Of Essentials For The Season. To my nose it is a combination of two of my favourite fragrances.l'air de rien and Philosykos(the latter thanks to your recommendation).I am thrilled to have found a new and interesting scent.but I wish it had more sillage. Oh well! Any man interested in these 2 should get the woman's version which smells perfectly unisex. So it will have to be pretty incredible. I've also been impressed with Prada's mainstream perfumes to date, and I am especially fond of Prada Man, so I was excited to hear that the same perfumer who created that scent (Daniela Andrier) did Infusion d'Iris as well. I liked Infusion dIris very much too. Maybe you need the Infusion d'Iris candle, although guessing those incense cones were way cheaper.
So I started to layer it.
Notify me of replies to my comments via e-mail. Although i agree with minette that the cedar/inscense is much stronger on paper than on skin. I still prefer Id'I, just sniffed them both in an airport today and decided to get Id'I for myself some day (prob.
I am super selective though with most thingsand Infusion d'Iris is pretty darn good (I'm wearing it now, it's lovely). Anyone else tried this fragrance before? document.getElementById( "ak_js_1" ).setAttribute( "value", ( new Date() ).getTime() ); Welcome to Bois de Jasmin! I really wish they would bring it back. So I considered it a ringing endorsement. It's hardly any consolation that we get the Beckham things before you, LOL! I do absolutely agree that a man could wear it. The first thing you need to know about Infusion d'Iris, if you haven't smelled it yet, is that it is light. To me it smells like soft violets, and oddly like the lovely clean, waxy smell that lip balm, such as Roses minted rose balm, has!
I bought a miniature, so I will see how it works on me.
Previously I smelt it on a card and did agree that it was kinda light, especially in comparison to the original Prada Eau de Parfum, but on my skin wow! It reminds me of walking through moonlit, well-cultured gardens on starry, summer nights. No way of knowing, it depends on too many factors the scent's composition, the storage conditions, etc. BTW, I think foody scents are an interesting topic. It's a shame I can't remember what that was, since there seem to be so many fans of the scent. It only works as long as no one disagress with you. Foody scents in contrast are above all inviting. What a great ideaI will have to try it with Kelly Caleche! Still, I love this one! Don't subscribe I tried my sample last night after my bath, and can still smell it this morning. I like the bottle. Ladylike and put-together, ideal to convey a chic, serene aura. Sooooo delicate yet very sensual and sophisticated. The next rude remark, called for or not, gets deleted. It smells different. The seller is being good about it and is offering to refund my money, but Im just wondering if maybe this is normal. However, at times it feels oddly disconcerting on me and I question how good a fit we really are; in the end, Infusion D'Iris is either an auric mood ring or a sylph with its own personalitynever to be underestimated! Anybody know about dIris? Wish I could remember how long it took the earlier Pradas to get to discount, although was noticing earlier today that Prada Pour Homme isn't marked down very much at either scentiments or imaginationperfumery. I could easily imagine this on Snow White or Miss Mina Murray of Dracula fame, as I could on a modern socialite, historian or writer. It's delicately tenacious if that makes sense. Then popped into a local department store and gave Prada one last squirt. And it will be a great transition scent. I love this, but it totally vanished from my skin in less than an hout. These days, iris rarely gets a chance to sparkle and preen. Would cost you more though! Like most people, half of what I buy is spur of the moment, or sometimes to fill holes in my collection as opposed to what I think is the best of the recent releases.

Very pretty but probably going to pick up fingerprints eventually. While parfums are often considered superior, simply because there is such a high concentration of essences in themparfums are denser, heavier, sometimes richer in characteredt's can have a charm all their own. Much like the fashions of the house, the composition is refined and stylized, blending quintessentially feminine flounces with masculine austerity.
