And should I prime it? I know I have been there. The baskets are for the pantry so theyll get a lot of use. The only issue is as you can see in the picture, the can didnt spray very clean. The Amazon reviews suggest its more of a rose gold. :), This is awesome! I already had 4 cans in my spray paint arsenal from all the trials I have done in the past. I honestly havent sanded anything and the Rust-Oleum has always adhered, even on plastic. I bought the black Rub n Buff.

Design Master is a dream to apply, dries super fast, and the color is gorgeous. The WORST! I am trying to spray paint a metal light to match polished brass fixtures in my home. Sign up below! In addition to being beautiful, Ingrid is really durable we have three kids, and we always have a home construction project going on. (Never heard of it, always bought the cheap ones) and I LOVE IT! I know this is years ago that you posted this, but just in case you see this and would like to try to make that centerpiece for another time I would get the snow spray paint for the snowy texture and then get glitter spray paint and spray that over the snow one for the sparkly/shimmery look, I feel like that may give you the look you seemed to be looking for. If the item details above arent accurate or complete, we want to know about it. I really did like the gold rub n buff too. I am considering spraying my cabinet hardware as the modern looking brushed brass ones that I like are about $40/handle! Design master is an absolute favorite. I have a quick question. No sanding or prep required.

We brought the Sansevi, Went foraging one of my favorite ways to a, Sometimes it just takes a good porch cleaning and, Wasnt expecting that actually totally expec, Mid summer porch refresh! I think it depends on whether or not you like traditional bright gold or antique gold. I was looking for a brassier gold, so Im going to go with the Valspar looks perfect.

HI,I am actually doing a brass painting project and this is perfect. Ive used the gold rub and buff with great results.. but sadly the Black was not so great. Would really appreciate your help. Whenever possible, we pick up Design Master! Also used it on my IKEA cabinetry handles to tie it together. I thought the Rub n Buff would be so awesome for lights if you dont want to mess with the electrical or door knobs. The looks Krylon like a rose gold or copper gold. i have a gold painting project coming up, and ive been trying to figure out this very thing. I think the only thing they had was the antique brass color. Id like to know which variety you used here. Next I spray painted our mug rack. I like the Rustoleum for a true gold, the Design Master for the bronze, I like the pink hues in the Krylon (cute for a girly room) and the antique-ness of the Valspar. I do like the comparisons all together to see the difference, I like the Rustoleum, has a little less yellow in it than the design master, but its all in what look you want. But now, what about SILVER paints? Please read my full disclosurehere***. They are just the cheap plastic covers you can get at any home improvement store. 
Which Rustoleum colour did you use its amazing!! I had bad luck with the Valspar it didnt mix evenly and I had streaks in my finish even though I shook it for as long as recommended. I know in make up applications that if you apply white and black underneath then put your desired color over top you get a blend of darker (whatever color) to lighter. I never gave much thought to how much variation there might be between the various brands, and its really neat to be able to see the comparison based on the pictures I think Id agree that the Rustoleum and the Design Master look best. That Kohler faucet is so difficult to match! The very first thing I spray painted gold was our light switch covers. It sounds like you got the same results with the black, that many reviewers on Amazon did also. So thanks for the info! I am so surprised how there are so many different views on a gold color. This is the first time I used Design Masters and I have to say I was very impressed especially with the uniform coat and drying time. It seems to come out of the nozzle with stream in center and mist by the edges. There are many kinds of Rustoleum with metalic in the name. This one looks at 4 gold spray paints. I am hoping I just got a bad can. I loved the color of design masters, but am finding that both the chair and ceramic I painted are rubbing off. Definitely to each their own. My opinion is in no way the RIGHT one. You might have luck just stepping back with your spray paint can for a lighter gold dusting and closer as you get to the top where you want it more saturated. Get the tools, mentorship, and training to be a Good Influencer professionally. Spray paint should hold up to some elements, but if it is prolonged, there can be damage. Nothing worked. Wish I had seen your blog, first. Have you ever wondered which gold spray paint to use for your projects? For, applications where I need authentic gold, I would definitely go for the Design Masters or Rustoleum Metallic.
I immediately was loving the Valspar but the more I read and looked at it definitely bronzey. He spray painted it all on his own, knowing to go with the Pure Gold! champagne mist oleum I used Martha Stewart Crafts gold liquid gilding. Id search how to ombr a vase, Oh and btw stippling on a sorta thinnish layer of some white paint over top the edge of black where the gold is gonna meet the black and also some right below the black paint before starting painting on the gold would help it look lighter in color towards the top. And it was so bad!! There is 14k, 24k, and from what I see just gold. It does not scratch or flake off. Ive tried two already, lol. [], [] do you take something from not-gold to gold?

The Design Master is reading with some green tones, which Im not a big fan of in gold. The other two are way too bronze. Cheers Cora :), Because of your post, I got the Rustoleum. oleum oz I normally prime but opted not to this time, so not sure if that was the problem. I know this is years later, but just in case you see this and werent able to get the desired effect I wouldnt use spray paint to do a gradient I would use a different kinda paint and use a sponge brush so you can give it a faded look and youd have better control of how thick of a layer you do and Id put the most coats on the very bottom and maybeee (if you still dont get the exact look youre after) stipple on a think layer of slightly darker paint on the very bottom. happy to have found your site through this :). The Valspar looks like an antique bronze/deep gold. Ive used it on wooden picture frames, a gold molded plastic mirror frame from the 60s, etc. I have the same problem!
And theyre very different from one another. Please try them. All pots got 2 light coats of spray paint without any drying time in between.
Rust-Oleum Universal Spray Paints apply easily, provide excellent coverage and dry fast to a tough, attractive finish. 
Ultimately, you should use the above observations to make a decision on what is best for your project! It went on way faster, looked even and so much better! I think it is just that black. Thank you! Jolien, Amsterdam NL. The Krylon Premium metallic which is on top has a very yellow almost artificial shine. This is the answer I needed, I do not want a brushed look so 4 will be perfect! Im actually hunting for a deeper gold for mirrors beside a painting with deep gold splashes. The total look of your website is great, as smartly as the content material!

Of course everyones screen could read different, but I would say they are reading pretty true. What an awesome experiment! Rustoleum and Design Master stayed on great for me. gold hardwareworld pure These are definitely matte gold and pretty true to their cap and would be great for applications where you are looking for a matte gold. gilding was not gold at all!
Were any of the other brands better at not rubbing off?

Im not sure if its just where I live, but the Design Master from Michaels is significantly more expensive. I also like to pull in the gold that is on our chandelier. I am planning on spray painting a winter green glass large vase for a Christmas event (gold) which one do you suggestion using. These three have a distinct rose tint. Have you compared coppers, silvers, and rose-golds, too? I think I have to go with Rustoleum. I found my finger worked the best. This will definately be on my mind when I do! Not, really but I actually would spray it bright white if I really could. I own 3 different golds and each is so different. I have decided that I really dont like Krylon. I think Ill update this post to include these were all under $7. You might need a little help searching, huh? I wish they shared their true shelf life. Do you have to apply a primer and a finishing protective product? Im an old fogey artist and have used Krylon through the years (centuries?) looking for spray painting gold on candles. I bought a bunch of mini terracotta pots to use as the test vehicle and used a Homeright spray shelter to spray each of the pots. Personally,Im hoping it will be a close []. Thanks again.
